Congratulations to Sarel for Winning the
2007
Alzheimer’s Association
Excellence in Caregiving Award!!
This year With a Little Help had three
wonderful caregivers nominated for the Alzheimer’s
Association Excellence in Caregiving Award ;
Darrell, Barb and Sarel. This is the second
nomination for Sarel and Barb, and the first for Darrell.
Nominations must come directly from family members and the
care has to be for someone with dementia or Alzheimer’s.
Each year the Alzheimer’s Association
Western and Central Washington State Chapter sponsors an
award for the professional caregiver who cares for someone
with dementia.

The Excellence
in Caregiving Award offers recognition for the hard
work, dedication and professionalism
that caregivers provide across the Chapters twenty-three
county region.
Some
of the
feedback Sarel received this year includes:
“Sarel’s ability to connect with mom is
extraordinary. Sarel truly cares about mom. Mom
can feel it. All of us can feel it, and there is
nothing quite as comforting. Sarel listens to mom and
responds to her in sensitive, nurturing ways.”
“Without Sarel’s care, I am sure mom would
have continued to decline. Sarel lifts her up with
such tenderness, creativity, and relationship-focused care.
She is never impatient or denigrating in any way.”
~Congratulations Sarel!
