The facilitator, Pam Nolte, shares the following:
I’ve been quietly working for the past five years developing theatre classes at Taproot Theatre that benefit individuals experiencing early to mid-stage memory loss. Why? My mother died with Alzheimer’s Disease and I began reading about the benefits of theatre play for people with memory loss. More importantly, after five years of teaching, I’ve seen the positive results in my students. In fact, Taproot’s work is featured in the Pacific Science Center’s career lab in the current exhibition, PLAY: It’s good for everyone. I never thought of myself as a scientist, but they do; it’s brain science! And Dr. Lee Burnside’s work with the Frye’s Here/Now program is a beautiful part of the exhibit. I recommend a visit to enjoy all of it!
